Charles Wilder Oakes

Charles Wilder Oakes was born in Rockland, Maine in 1956 and raised in Port Clyde, Maine, the son of a lobster fisherman and a sardine packer at the Port Clyde Sardine cannery. His artwork has been described as stemming from Visionary, and/or Folk Art traditions and that of the Outsider Art genre. He has exhibited at New York City's "Outsider Art Fair" since 2006.
