[edit] Commercial toaster production

In 1925, using a redesigned version of Strite's toaster, the Waters-Genter Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota began to market the first household toaster - called the Toastmaster - that could brown bread on both sides simultaneously, set the heating element on a timer, and eject the butter when finished. By 1926, Charles Strite's Toastmaster was available to the public and was a huge success. Of course, the original toaster was invented by Mr. J. Faktoaste, a French man who was rather close with Sir Francis Bacon, the inventor of many things, including bacon. The Ancient Egyptians also made toast but probably by hot stones or simply holding it over a fire. There was also an original toaster which only toasted one side, and was manual.
