Charles Prest

Charles Henry Prest was a first class cricketer who played 5 first class matches from 1861 to 1870. He appeared for the Gentlemen of the North against the Gentlemen of the South at Trent Bridge in 1864 and for Oxford University v Southgate at the Magdalen Ground, Oxford in the same year.
He played 2 matches for Yorkshire CCC, against Cambridgeshire and Surrey CCC in 1864, and in one final game for Middlesex CCC against Surrey at the Oval in 1870. A right handed batsman he scored 132 runs at 13.2 with a best of 57 against Southgate. He was born on December 9, 1841 in York and died, at just 35, on March 4, 1875 in Gateshead in County Durham.
His brother, William Prest, played 16 matches for Yorkshire in its days as a pre county club.
