Charles Pogue is an American screenwriter, novelist, and labor leader .
Although the Pogue-written 1986 version of The Fly is often considered a classic of modern horror, he has not always been pleased with films based on his scripts. Pogue told IGN Filmforce, "Both Dragonheart and Kull the Conqueror fell far short of where I had originally intended them to go. Two lauded scripts that were diminished in the long process that it took to get them to the screen. Dragonheart is a disappointment. Kull is a disaster. Both lost their poetry, panache, and power."
From 1997-2001, Pogue served on the Board of Directors of the Writers Guild of America, west.
