Charles Pierrepont, 2nd Earl Manvers

Charles Herbert Pierrepont, 2nd Earl Manvers (11 August 1778 – 27 October 1860) was an English sailor and nobleman.
He served in the Royal Navy as a lieutenant and commander in 1797 before promotion to captain the following year. He served with Lord Nelson in the Mediterranean during the Napoleonic Wars but retired from the Navy in 1803.
His elder brother Evelyn died in 1801, and Charles took his seat as Member of Parliament for Nottinghamshire and the style of Lord Pierrepont. In 1806, his father was created Earl Manvers, and Charles was styled Viscount Newark. He remained an MP until 1816, when he succeeded to the Earldom.

He married Mary Laetitia, eldest daughter of Anthony Hardolph Eyre of Grove, Nottinghamshire (1784–1860), in 1804. They had four children:

- Sydney William Herbert Pierrepont, 3rd Earl Manvers (1825–1900)
- Lady Mary Frances Pierrepont (d. 1905), married Edward Christopher Egerton in 1845
- Lady Annora Charlotte Pierrepont (d. 1888), married Charles Watkin Williams-Wynn in 1853
