Charles Pachter

Charles Pachter (born December 30, 1942) is a Canadian artist residing in Toronto. Pachter is a painter, printmaker, sculptor and designer. Some of his works are currently on exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum in a digital medium.[1][2] His nationalistic work has garnered him entry into the Order of Canada.[3]

According to his website, Pachter was born in Toronto and holds degrees from the University of Toronto, the Sorbonne and the Cranbrook Academy of Art as well as an honorary degree from Brock University.[4] He currently lives and works beside Grange Park in downtown Toronto and his work is on permanent display at his adjoining Moose Factory Gallery.[5]

Charles Pachter has worked in various mediums and is well-known for several of the moose sculptures which were created as part of an artistic civic drive in Toronto.[3] His mural, Hockey Knights in Canada is displayed in Toronto's College Street subway station.[6] In 2006, Pachter demonstrated the use of Microsoft's Surface at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel Centre.[7]
