Charles Lewis Beale

Charles Lewis Beale (born March 5, 1824, Canaan, New York - died January 29, 1900, Hudson, New York) was a member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.

Beale graduated from Union College, Schenectady, New York, in 1844, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1849. He commenced practice in Canaan, then moved to Kinderhook, New York in 1852 and continued the practice of law. He was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-sixth Congress (March 4, 1859-March 3, 1861), but was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1860 to the following Congress. Afterwards, he became a delegate to the Union National Convention at Philadelphia in 1866 and resumed his law practice. He died in Hudson, New York, on January 29, 1900 and was interred in Kinderhook Cemetery.
