Charles J. Saunders

Charles J. Saunders was a mayor of Flagstaff, Arizona. Before becoming mayor, he founded KCLS (AM) in 1950. He had Navajo Hour on KCLS which allowed Native Americans to know when to put out blankets so that they can get the food that was being air dropped during the snow storms. The Navajo announcer, Raymond Nakai, became Chairman of the Navajo Tribe.
