Charles Cahill (rugby league)

Charles "Chicka" Cahill (born in Wickham, New South Wales) was an Australian rugby league footballer. He played in the forwards for the Newtown "Bluebags" in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership, enjoing premiership success in the 1943 season. His good form continued in NSWRFL season 1944, as he helped his club become minor premiers and runners-up, and the following season Cahill was the competition's top try-scorer. He went on to later coach, then become an administrator at the Newtown club, and was awarded life membership of the NSWRFL in 1966 for his contributions to rugby league. Cahill died in July, 2007.
