Charles Borland, Jr.

Charles Borland, Jr. (June 29, 1786 - February 23, 1852) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Minisink, New York, Borland pursued preparatory studies. He was graduated from Union College, Schenectady, New York, in 1811. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar and practiced. He served as president of the board of trustees of Montgomery for ten years. He served as member of the State assembly in 1820 and 1821.

Borland was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Seventeenth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Selah Tuthill and served from November 8, 1821, to March 3, 1823. He served as district attorney of Orange County 1835-1841. He was again a member of the State assembly, in 1836. He died in Wardsbridge, New York, February 23, 1852. He was interred in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, New York.
