Charles Bradford "Charlie" Black Jr. also known as Hawk (born June 15, 1921 in Arco, Idaho; died December 22, 1992) was an American basketball player.
He played collegiately as a forward for the University of Kansas where he was a four-time first-team All-American (the only one Jayhawk history). Black also became the first player in KU history to score 1,000 points for his career. He was a member of the Jayhawks' 1943 Big 6 confrence championship team (which also featured 2-time All-American guard Ray Evans, and 4-time all-conference forward Otto Schnellbacher) that is regarded as one of the greatest teams in KU's proud basketball history.
He played for the Indianapolis Jets (1948-49), Fort Wayne Pistons (1949-50), Anderson Packers (1949-50) and Milwaukee Hawks (1950-51) in the NBA for 136 games.
