[edit] Biography
A former Texarkana ad salesman, Pierce began making low budget films in the early 1970s. His first film, The Legend of Boggy Creek, became a modest hit and grossed around $20 million.[1] Pierce continued to make regional films including a sequel to Boggy Creek entitled Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues in 1985.[2]
In addition to directing, Pierce has starred in several of his own films including Bootleggers and both Boggy Creek films. He also served as a writer on the 1983 Clint Eastwood film Sudden Impact.[3]
Since the late 1960s, Pierce has worked on various films and television shows as a set decorator. In 1987, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for art direction on the mini series Fresno.[4]
