Charles-Bernard van de Werve (1740-1813), Count of Vorsselaer, Baron of Lichtaert and of Rielen, Lord of Giessen-Oudkerk, formed part of a very old, important and noble family of Antwerp.
He is the son of count Charles-Philippe and of countess née Marie-Anne de Pret. He married in 1763 Hubertine de Gilman. She is the daughter of the Lord of Mertsenhoven and Itteren; and of Catherine-Caroline Vecqemans de la Verre. He married a second time in 1788 Reine della Faille. She was the daughter of Jérôme della Faille. From his first marriage was born one child: Augustin van de Werve, he was titrated baron of Lichtaert as wire elder of the count of Vorsselaer. But he died before his father, and became never count of Vorsselaer. Augustin Married in 1784 Marie-Anne van Colen.
