Chapora is a beach that is around 10 km. from Mapusa, a City in Northern Goa. Crouched in the shadow of a Portuguese fort on the opposite, northern side of the headland from Vagator, Chapora, 10-km from Mapusa, it is significantly busier than most north coast villages.
(This article is almost entirely wrong. There is no beach called "Chapora Beach", the picture shown is one of Vagator, taken from the hill next to the Chapora fort, looking south towards Ozran and Baga. There is a village called Chapora or Caisua, next to Vagator, and it is a busier village than several, but not exceptionally so. It is not a market town: Siolim is a far larger market town.)
