SCHOOL FACTS:
Chaparral High School was the first comprehensive high school built in the Temecula Valley Unified School District. When its doors opened in 1997, there was much jockeying for the opportunity to teach at the “New “ high school. It has enjoyed much academic and extra-curricular success, including the honor of being the first high school to achieve Distinguished High School status. Principal Dan Kenley, a proud Puma himself, is quick to point out some of the unique elements of the campus, which include a comprehensive exchange program with our sister city, Voorburg, in the Netherlands. Students visited the campus as a group, and seemed enthusiastic about their experience. The Dare to Connect Program has brought the campus closer together as well. Chaparral had a chance to show its true colors and “heart” during the firestorms, and they made the most of it. Staff and students alike rallied to support the evacuees housed on their site. As CHS turns ten, we celebrate our outstanding achievements, knowing we can all look forward to many more years of future success.
