The team investigate the disappearance of a young woman from the local university. The episode relates to the Chaos Theory in that the case may not be an actual murder.

This episode may have been at least partially inspired by Thornton Wilder's The Bridge of San Luis Rey which contains at least similar themes and philosophy.[citation needed]
