She was raised in New York city since she was 5, but has recently moved to Los Angeles. She is married to Little Jimmy Urine of the band Mindless Self Indulgence[2][3]

She cowrote a monthly advice column in Alternative Press along with Riley Breckenridge, the drummer from Thrice that ended in December of 2007. She hosted an advice radio show on East Village Radio on Tuesday Nights at Midnight with her "Super Secret Sidekick".[citation needed]

At her live shows she is known to bring people up on stage and have them strip for a song called Take Off Your Clothes[4] as well as has the audience perform aerobics for Nth Degree[citation needed]. Wears a gun holster as a microphone holder.[5]

Prior to meeting Pedro Yanowitz (co-composer and partner in creation of Morningwood), former drummer for the Wallflowers and Natalie Merchant, Claret was attending film school[6], with an eye on directing music videos. She most recently directed the latest Morningwood video for Take Off Your Clothes, which can be seen on the band's MySpace. In 2002 Claret appeared in the indie short film by Kolton Lee 'American Mod'.[7] She enjoys shooting guns, riding horses, swimming, and playing video games.[citation needed]
