Dr. Philip Channard is a Cenobite appearing in the movie Hellbound: Hellraiser II. Originally a brain surgeon, psychiatrist, and head of the Channard Mental Institution. He spent his lifetime studying the Lament Configuration, seeing it as the window to the secrets behind the mind. Prior to the movie, he murdered Tiffany's mother and kept Tiffany for study at the institute due to her unique abilities. When news came to him of the grisly events of the first movie, he had Julia's mattress moved to his house. He resurrected Julia Cotton by using one of his patients, the self-mutilating Browning, as a sacrificial lamb. Channard helped Julia become whole in return for showing him the secret of the Lament Configuration, and enter the Labyrinth to obtain all the knowledge he sought. However, Julia betrayed him to become a Cenobite as part of a pact she made with Leviathan. As a Cenobite, Channard was directly connected to Leviathan by a worm-like tendril that drilled into his skull and was also responsible for killing off Female Cenobite, Butterball Cenobite and Chatterer Cenobite. Only Pinhead barely survived the incident after being separated from his original self as punishment for turning on Channard. Channard was killed by the end of the movie when he tried to kill Tiffany by shooting two tentacle-knives at her, getting himself stuck while Leviathan pulled most of his head off.
