Changa Bangial is a Union Council, an administrative subdivision, of Gujar Khan Tehsil in the Punjab Province of Pakistan[1]. It is the collective name of 17 Dhooks (settlements) with distinctive names, such as Bharole, Dhanda, Sabbar and Changa Maira. It is about seven miles from the tehsil capital Gujar Khan midway on the road to Kallar Syedan and is located at 33°19'60N 73°19'60E[2]. The area it occupies is quite extensive. The number of its population is estimated to be 10,000 persons, most of whom belong to the Bangial tribe.
A large community of its residents reside in UK and other countries of Europe. Its best known son was Muhammad Fazal Khan Changwi, who authored about a dozen books, among them Asrar-i Shari'at. He also translated Futuhat Makkiyya of Ibn Arabi into Urdu. Also his grandson Muniruddin Ahmed is a known writer.
