As of 2001 India census,[2] Chanasma had a population of 15,819. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Chanasma has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 81% and female literacy of 67%. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
