[edit] Origins
The strong growth of the Champion Schools Tournament, which is claimed to be the largest rugby league tournament in the world, led to the creation of the Champion Colleges Competition for years 12-13.[1]
[edit] Format
The competition is split into three leagues: the North West, Yorkshire and the Premier Division. The college leagues play from September until March culminating in a top four play-off series.[2]
