Chamba is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tehri Garhwal District in the state of Uttarakhand, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Chamba had a population of 6579. Males constitute 59% of the population and females 41%. Chamba has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 82% and female literacy of 68%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
