From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chalice Recording Studio is a famous recording studio in Hollywood, California. It was opened by Ben Tao in 2002. As Chalice was founded, commercial music recording studios were closing down in America. This made Chalice the last major commercial recording studio to be built in America at the time. As others failed, Chalice recording studio's popularity continued to soar as many artists came to put down their tracks.

Many famous studio albums have been recorded at Chalice since its opening. Some of the the first albums recorded there were Barbara Streisand's The Movie Album and AFI's Sing the Sorrow, and numerous albums recorded there have achieved platinum status, such as Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics and Kanye West's Late Registration.

Throughout the years, Chalice has taken on a diverse mix of genres, such as hip hop, reggae, contemporary R&B, rock, pop, electronica and jazz.
