Chalcophyllite
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chalcophyllite is an uncommon oxide-copper mineral occurring in the oxidized zones of some arsenic-bearing copper deposits. It is named from the Greek, chalco "copper" and fyllon, "leaf." Chemical formula: Cu++18 Al2(AsO4)3(SO4)3(OH)27·33(H2O) , a hydrated copper aluminum arsenate sulfate hydroxide.
Chalcophyllite is another rare and classic Cornwall mineral. It can be confused with tabular spangolite.
