Chalappally is a small village in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala in the state of India. It is located between the two major towns in Pathanamthitta district, Ranni and Mallappally. Majority of people are farmers whose main income comes from rubber plantations. The people are from several religions and castes. There is a famous hindu temple located near Chalappally, Kunnam Annapoorneswari Devi Temple. The temple is a typical example of a Kerala "Nattumpuram" temple.
