Coordinates: Chakan is a census town in the Pune district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Shiroli Chandus village, six km north from the Chakan, has been identified as a probable site for the proposed Pune International airport.

Chakan is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 646 metres (2119 feet). Now this city is coming on the global map, because of the SEZ .i.e. Special economy Zone and the MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation). New air port proposal is also sanctioned for chakan city. This airport will be located 6 km in the east of chakan. Also, One more important thing about chakan city is it has one fort called " Bhueekot Killa" means the fort which is on normal ground level and surrounded by the walls or some security systems. This fort is of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the old king which is still an idol of people of Maharashtra
