Chronicled Events

Chaitanya Smruti, the alumni association of CBIT has been an integral part of the college establishment since its inception in 1984. Engineers graduating from the portals of the college have made a mark for themselves all over the world, in every walk of life. With this vast diversity in careers and wider geographical boundaries of the alumni, the alumni association’s role in providing the networking platform became especially critical.

The alumni association was first formed in 1984 when the graduating class decided to establish a system to continue to be in touch with their friends. They decided to call this organization, Chaitanya Smruti, the guiding light for all CBIT graduates. From 1984, as CBIT graduates started looking at higher studies and newer careers in different parts of the world, Chaitanya Smruti continued to be the node through which alumni could get in touch with their batch-mates and to get in sync with the developments of the college. Into the 1990’s, when the software boom took place and introduced globalization in a big way, the need for a focal point for all graduates to get in touch with each other became extremely critical and Chaitanya Smruti played an important role in this unification. By organizing regular reunions when past students paid a visit to their alma mater and met their friends, Chaitanya Smruti helped retain the bond between the alumni and the college.

The Association has an international chapter at the USA. CBIT USA

The association organizes the Reunion and the immensely popular cultural fest 'CARPE DIEM' for every two years.
