Chagalamarri is located at 14.9667° N 78.5833° E.^[1] It has an average elevation of 149 meters (492 feet).

Its almost equal distance with + or - from three major cities from Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. It is located at the border of Kurnool and Kadapa districts. Chagalamarri is in between Allagadda(Kurnool Dt) and Mydukur(Kadapa Dt).

        At the entrance of Chagalamarri CHAGALAMMA TEMPLE is there, because of this temple only village name was established. In chagalamarri two SIVALAYAM TEMPLES are there, one of these was buid by ROYAL SRI KRISHNA DEVARA.

Chagalamarri is populated with hindus and muslims with ratio of 50:50. Among hindus majority of population is Arya Vysyas. When coming to temples in Chagalamarri there are Kanyaka Parameshwari temple where the Dasara festival is celebrated very grandly every year and Ayyappa temple on NH-18 high way road.Apart these there are somany temples among all these CHENNAKESAVA DEVASTANAM is the oldest temple. In thyagaraja keerthanas in one of the slokas he mentioned as " CHAGALAMARRILO VELASINA CHENNAKESAVA". Such type of great history is having this CHAGALAMARRI. BUGGA MALLESWARA SWAMI temple also very famous and very old one. 24 hours water facility is there in the pond near to the temple. Every year many people of Chagalamarri take the Ayyappa mala during the Sankranthi season. The temple is well known for serving of free break fast,lunch and dinner to any person who is in ayyappa mala going through Chagalamarri towards sabarimala.
