Chadan

Chadan (Russian: Чадан) is a town and the administrative center of Dzun-Khemchiksky District of the Tuva Republic, Russia, located on the Chadan River (Yenisei's basin), 224 km west of Kyzyl. Population: 9,454 (2002 Census); 10,775 (1989 Census).

Chadan has been known since 1873. Town status was granted to it in 1945.

There are a bread-making and a butter-making plants in the town. Coal is mined in the town's vicinity.
