The Chacao Channel (Spanish: "Canal de Chacao") is located in Los Lagos Region, Chile and separates the island of Chiloé from mainland Chile. The channel was created during the last glacial maximum by glaciers flowing down fron the andes to the coast. A bridge connecting the island with the continent is planned. (See Chacao Channel bridge.)
