The station went on the air on October 9, 2007 at 6 a.m.; part of its talk programming comes from the Corus Québec network. [3] [4] The station's original call sign (as assigned in November 2006) was CIEL-FM-6, but it was changed to CFYX-FM in May 2007. [5]
A station CJMF-FM, in Quebec City which broadcasts on the same frequency and has a nerly similar format, has claimed that CFYX-FM copied their jingles, show titles and programming style to such an extent that there could be confusion between the two stations. The jingles of CJMF-FM were created and produced by [www.studiopeak.net] under licence for the Quebec city market Cfyx broadcast in completely different market and hired studiopeak creation too.
