CFUR is a Canadian FM radio station based out of the University of Northern British Columbia's Wintergarden, or main common area. Operated by the Education Alternative Radio Society (EARS), (which consists of UNBC students and community volunteers), its programming is quite varied in an attempt to cover alternative genres outside of mainstream radio. The licence was issued on September 12, 2001. Broadcasting at FM 88.7, and even though its current signal is only 5 watts, its signal covers outlying areas of Prince George due to the elevation of the UNBC campus.
CFUR was one of the first campus radio stations to apply for a developmental licence, a licence process created by the CRTC to encourage and streamline the creation of campus and community radio stations. Other campus stations include CFBX in Kamloops.
CFUR-FM is a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association
