[edit] Location?
At present, following the grid reference to google maps indicates the base is in the ocean. Anybody got more accurate data? --Commking 03:46, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Take a look at Alert, Nunavut and Alert Airport. The coordinates for the airport are right out of the CFS and they also appear to be in the ocean. However, if you zoom out out on google maps the white (ice/snow?) looks as if it continues into the blue. If you change the satellite image to a map then Alert is shown on land. If you use google earth then Alert appearing in the ocean is still the same but it's now outlined by a yellow line. Also look at this and National Defence site give the coordinates as in the article. I think it's more of a google map issue. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CFS Alert Crest
Newbie here. As I understand the copyright of images, those from the Government are copyright free? I have the crest but wonder if it can be put up here. And if it can be used, how do I get it on the page (style-wise right margin with the text on the left). I've seen boxes, frames, etc but have know idea how to do it. Maybe I could put it up here in the discussion section and someone can move it? CubBC (talk) 09:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Replied on users talk page. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 14:54, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
