Template talk:CFBwelcome
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I editted the welcome message to make it much shorter. This seems more appropriate for now when left on the talk page of an experienced user for the purpose of informing them about the project. If it is a new user that has never received a generic welcome - leaving the generic welcome is probably better. It is more important for them to learn the ropes of Wikipedia than it is for them to go around joining WikiProjects. Johntex\talk 22:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Optional field
You can now put the name of the article that the user edited as an optional field. For example, {{CFBwelcome}} still produces the standard message shown on the article page, but {{CFBwelcome|Bob Stoops}} would return this:
Hello, I noticed that you have edited Bob Stoops, a College football related article. You may be interested to know that there is a college football WikiProject which you can join if you like. We would love to have you!
