César Velasco Broca (born 1978) is a Spanish cult filmmaker born in Amurrio (Alava), Spain.
He realizes his first short film, Footsy in Super-8, around the history of matching of two dead horses. This opens the doors him for other more ambitious projects as the short in 16 mm Kinky Hoodoo Voodoo, who narrates the history of an extraterrestrial invasion that is nourished of Spanish children. The short receives multitude of prizes and is exhibited in festivals like Sitges, San Sebastian or Marienbad.
Already bought property as one of the most interesting filmmakers of the decade, one entrusts him a project of video of sexual education that finally ends turning into his new short film: Der Milchshorf. La Costra Láctea., (The Lacteal Crust), which has a great reception and which supports the constants of the fetishism, the Spain folkclore, and the aliens.
After trying to extract afloat a TV series (The galactic adventures of Jaime de Funes and Arancha) and a book (The orange trees of the eternal brilliance), he collaborates with TheVideoArtFoundation including the segment "Permanence/Permanencia" in the international project Videodictionary.
In 2007 there gains with his short film Avant Pétalos Grillados the Slamdance's Great Prize of the Juror to the best experimental short.
Nowadays he takes the record stamp Batan Bruits, and the pre-production of his jump to the full-length film Transharmonic Nights, written by Nacho Vigalondo.
