Cesar Baena

Cesar Augusto Baena Sierraalta, (born November 2nd, 1986 in Altamira, Caracas) is a Venezuelan cross country skier and biathlon athlete. Son of Cesar Baena Santana and Zoila Sierraalta Quintero. His grandparent was the founder manager of Grapette Beverages in Venezuela.

He finished primary and high school studies at the Colegio Simón Bolívar in Caracas. He study Business Administration at University of Klagenfurt , Austria.

César was an Olympic volunteer at the Athens 2004 and Torino 2006 Summer and Winter Olympics, as well at the Aachen 2006 World Equestrian Games.

He started to ski at age of 17. He assisted to Military Ski trainings at Chile and Argentina. Cesar is the only and first Venezuelan athlete in Biathlon Sport. As well co-founder of the Federación Venezolana de Deportes de Invierno and Founder and President of the Club de Deportes de Invierno del Estado Miranda. He represented Venezuela in diverse continental ski championships since 2006.

In 2007 he started at the South American Biathlon Championship in Chile.

For the year 2008, he owns the best speed record in Cross-Country for any athlete in Venezuelan history.

Hard contender for Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
