User:Cernen/Reference desk no-nos
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Purpose
Because I hate it when people do stupid things at the RefDesk.
[edit] What are the no-nos?
- Don't write in caps lock mode/all capital letters.
- Do your own homework
- Don't double post
- Don't list your e-mail address
[edit] How can we fix this stuff?
Of course, leave it to Cernen to solve everything with a subst'd template. Here are four templates that YOU, as a reference desk "employee," can use to fight the tyrrany of people who don't read the rules.
{{User:Cernen/Template:nocapsplz|~~~~}} (talk page) Please do not write your questions in all caps, all bold, or all bold-italic text. It is much harder to read than normal questions and frustrates the reference desk employees. Your question may be deleted if you see this notice; you should reformat it to prevent this from happening. {{User:Cernen/Template:nodoubles|~~~~}} (talk page) Please do not post your questions more than once. We may not know the answer to your question, are still figuring it out, or are refusing to answer for one of the reasons stated at the top of this page. Asking us a second time will not likely get you your answer either, and almost guarantees you we will be ignoring you in the future. Your question may be deleted if you see this notice; you should reformat it to prevent this from happening. {{User:Cernen/Template:dyoh|~~~~}} (talk page) Please do your own homework. We are not going to help you cheat. We do or have already done our homework; it's your turn to do yours. Your question may be deleted if you see this notice; you should reformat it to prevent this from happening. {{User:Cernen/Template:noemail|~~~~}} (talk page) Please do not post your e-mail address. Spammers love that kind of thing, and we have removed it for your protection. Please do not repost it.
Use at your own risk. View the talk pages of each template for further information.
