Certified Compensation Professional

A designation as a Certified Compensation Professional (or CCP) signifies a mark of expertise and excellence in all areas of compensation throughout the human resource and global rewards community. The CCP designation requires a passing score on nine examinations. There is no time limit for completion of these requirements, but periodic recertification is necessary to maintain current status of the CCP designation.

The CCP designation was introduced in 1976 and is issued by WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals, an affiliate of WorldatWork.

To be eligible to earn a CCP designation, an individual must achieve a passing score on nine examinations--six required and three electives--administered by WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals. Candidates may take as long as they need to complete the requirements.

  • T2: Accounting and Finance for the Human Resources Professional
  • T3: Quantitative Methods
  • C1: Regulatory Environments for Compensation Programs
  • C2: Job Analysis, Documentation and Evaluation
  • C4: Base Pay Management

Elective Exams (choose any three):

  • C5: Elements of Sales Compensation
  • C6: Principles of Executive Rewards
  • C6A: Advanced Concepts in Executive Compensation
  • C11: Performance Management - Strategy, Design and Implementation
  • C12: Variable Pay: Incentives, Recognition and Bonuses
  • C15: Global Compensation - Strategy in Practice
  • C17: Market Pricing - Conducting a Competitive Analysis
  • T4: Strategic Communication in Total Rewards
  • T6: Mergers and Acquisitions: Benefits, Compensation and Other HR Issues
  • T9: International Remuneration: An Overview of Global Rewards
  • T12: Outsourcing and Managing HR Service Partners
  • T11: Fundamentals of Equity-based Rewards

To maintain the currency of the CCP designation, professionals must recertify every three years. Recertification requirements involve obtaining 12 credits within the three years by participating in professional development activities. This includes membership in a professional organization, publishing professional articles, attending educational courses or seminars, and more.
