Centre for Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound (CNMU), Mymensingh is a Bangladesh Government Organization under Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). BAEC itself is Commission set by presidential order to exploit the peaceful use of Atomic energy and working under Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology. It is one of the 13 CNMU’s around the country. There is also one Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Ultrasound in Dhaka under BAEC. The foundation of this Centre was laid by the then Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf on 24 May, 1991 and inaugurated on 11 February, 1993 by the then Minister of Education, Barrister Jamiruddin Sarker. Currently the Centre is busiest among 13 CNMU and handle a large number and variety of patients every month.
