[edit] Bois-Francs and regional identity
I've clarified the usage of the name Bois-Francs somewhat; let me know if this is clear enough. "Bois-Francs" was used as part of the now-defunct Mauricie-Bois-Francs administrative region of Quebec, but I suspect the name is particular to Victoriaville and area (more specifically, to now-also-defunct Arthabaska County, which comprised Arthabaska and Érable RCMs), while Drummondville and area was traditionally subsumed by the Eastern Townships and had no other particular regional identity. When the Mauricie-Bois-Francs region was created in 1987, perhaps it was felt that "Bois-Francs" would be suitable enough as a moniker for the entire south shore of the St-Lawrence at Trois-Rivières... any comments on this? --dragfyre 05:59, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
