[edit] Discussion of the schools

All the schools in Central Unified School District are special.Ever since the first school was built in 1889,it has been a very good district. There are now eleven elementary schools, three high schools, two middle schools, and one adult school. The school district office is located near Polk Street and is where the help of some school or schools are needed. The schools are all good ones. The students usually begin going to school between 7:45 and 8:05 in the morning and stay in school until between about 2:30 and 3:05 in the afternoon. But if the students have afterschool activities, then they get out at 4:30 in the afternoon at the earliest and at about 5:30 in the afternoon at the latest.

[edit] School buses

The school buses in Central Unified School District are both big and small. The big school buses are for students who are not in special education except in the middle schools and high schools, which is used for all students who go there. The small school buses are for the special education students in the elementary schools at Central Unified and for the students who go to Central High School (West Campus) and live on or close to the Sierra Mobile Home Park and especially by northern Fresno. All buses arrive at the same time every single day of the school year, with the exception of Foggy Day Schedule, which is when the morning buses arrive later than usual. When it is Foggy Day Schedule, the reason why the buses arrive to school later than usual is because there is a lot of fog in Fresno. The only exception is Plan D,which is when all the morning buses are camceled.

During Foggy Day Schedule, the morning buses at Central Unified, which is the same for all of Fresno County, may run later than usual. The season begins in November and lasts until March, which is from late fall until the end of winter or the beginning of spring. Here is the delay for Foggy Day Schedule:

  • Plan A is a 2-hour bus delay
  • Plan B is s 3-hour bus delay
  • Plan C is a 4-hour bus delay
  • Plan D is when the morning buses are canceled, but the afternoon buses are still on schedule.
