Centro The Glen (formerly The Glen) is a shopping centre located in Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia. It is much smaller than nearby shopping centres Knox City Shopping Centre and Chadstone Shopping Centre, and even Forest Hill Chase, its nearest competitor. It is immediately next to the Kingsway shops, the Novotel hotel and Century City Walk (which incorporates Village Cinemas and restaurants). The center was formerly decorated in a unique artistic style, although new developments have removed many of the original installations such as fountains and statues.
The head offices of Centro Properties are located in the centre.
Although "The Glen" originally opened in 1967, it was largely demolished in 1989/1990 to make way for a newer, larger shopping centre. The "new Glen" opened in 1991 and has had incremental expansions over time.
The centre contains a large and a small food court as well as various cafes and a fresh food section. Major retailers include David Jones, Target, Safeway, Dick Smith Electronics and Coles. It is one of 4 (soon 5) shopping centres in Melbourne which has a David Jones.
