Centro Colonnades is one of the largest shopping centres in Adelaide, South Australia. The shopping centre is located in the City of Onkaparinga, in the suburb of Noarlunga Centre. Colonnades is located on a large allotment of land with access from Goldsmith Drive, Beach Road and Burgess Road.

The centre contains two supermarkets (Coles and Woolworths), several department stores (Myer, Kmart & BIG W), as well as a Angus & Robertson, Cheap as Chips, JB Hi-Fi and Best and Less and approximately 200 other specialty stores. The mall also contains a Diners Life food court, as well as Fresh Life and Market Fresh fresh food sections.

[edit] History

Colonnades Shopping Centre was built in 1979 and had a wing added to the northern end of the centre in the late 1990's which included a Woolworths supermarket. Colonnades Shopping Centre was acquired by Centro in 2003, and underwent a AU$120 million expansion, which has saw the building of a larger Woolworths, and the addition of a Big W. The new wing greatly increased the amount of specialty shops in the centre. Some of the largest speciality shops in the new wing include an Angus & Robertson and a Dick Smith.

Myer left Colonnades Shopping Centre due to low profit yields in 1997 and the 13,500 m² 3-level store was taken over by Harris Scarfe. Harris Scarfe then removed the escalators, and the former Myer store was converted to three separate levels. Harris Scarfe occupied the ground floor, and a JB Hi-Fi, Best & Less and Cheap as Chips occupied the first floor. The top floor was made unaccessible to shoppers. On July 28, 2007 Myer took over the remaining part of its original store from Harris Scarfe.
