Centre for Development and Enterprise

The Centre for Development and Enterprise is a South African public policy think-tank. It researches and advocates on issues of economic development, social development and democracy with a focus on the role of markets and capitalism.
CDE was established in 1995 with core funding from South African businesses. It states that it "formulates its proposals after careful study of international best practice and South African realities."[1]
Laurie Dippenaar is chairman of the CDE's board and Ann Bernstein is the organisation's executive director.[2]
