Centre for Convergence Media Studies, established in 2005 in the University of Kerala at its Senate House Campus, Palayam,
Thiruvananthapuram, offers one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Convergence Media (PGDCM) Objectives

     PGDCM is aimed at enabling the students to pursue their career in the new media and to adapt themselves to the changing 
paradigms of media.

Core courses

   * Communication Skills (including communicative English)
   * Audio Visual Communication
   * Techniques of Software Development
   * Writing for New Media
   * Interactive Media Authoring Techniques
   * Designing for New Media
   * One-month Internship Programme in industry
   * Multimedia Project Work (30 days)

Eligibility for admission

   Students having a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kerala or a degree from any other University recognized by the
University as equivalent thereto, in any discipline, shall be eligible to apply.
Number of seats
   Twenty students shall be admitted to PGDCM.
Reservation of seats
   The rules for reservation of seats laid down by the University from time to time for the candidates belonging to SC/ST 
communities and SEBCs shall be observed.
 Sponsored candidates
   Five seats, in excess of the allotted 20, shall be given to candidates sponsored by accredited media organizations and 
allied institutions. If there are more than five applicants for the said seats,
these candidates will have to appear for an interview for selection.
Weightage shall be given to additional qualifications and duration of service.

Admission

   Admission to PGDCM shall be based on the marks obtained in the entrance test to be conducted by the University. 
The test shall be on general awareness and aptitude in information technology, mass media and visual communication.
Maximum marks for the two-hour test will be 100.
