Centre Township is a township in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,631 at the 2000 census.
It is in Schuylkill Valley School District.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 21.6 square miles (55.9 km²), of which, 21.4 square miles (55.5 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²) of it (0.74%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 3,631 people, 1,359 households, and 1,034 families residing in the township. The population density was 169.6 people per square mile (65.5/km²). There were 1,399 housing units at an average density of 65.3/sq mi (25.2/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.96% White, 0.61% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 0.44% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.40% of the population.
There were 1,359 households out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.1% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.9% were non-families. 17.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the township the population was spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.2 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $51,698, and the median income for a family was $58,056. Males had a median income of $36,972 versus $25,701 for females. The per capita income for the township was $20,718. About 4.1% of families and 5.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.9% of those under age 18 and 6.5% of those age 65 or over.
