Central logistics base (CLoB) was formed during reorganization of the armed forces, by transforming 608th Rear base and subordinating storage facilities of 793rd rear base as well as 524th and 201st Logistics base. The central logistics base is a logistics unit, with the purpose to provide SAF units and institutions with movable resources and reserve parts, armaments and ordnance as well as medical, quartermaster and vet supplies.

The roots of 608th Rear Base date back to 1953, since the forming of the Procurement Base for the Imported Material. Adjusting its structure to the needs, organization of procurement and supply of technical and material resources, the base was transformed on 20 November 1961. As of 1987 it existed as the SSNO Technical-Supply Base. Finally, on 16 November 1992, 608th Rear Base of the YA GS was formed with the purpose of storing, preserving and allocating strategic reserves. The establishing the CLoB finalizes the unifying process of all detached storage facilities in SAF.

The peace-time formation of CLoB comprises command HQ, a command company and four storage battalions. The Central Logistics Base comprises a total of 21 warehouses and 9 sections in 49 locations.

  1. Providing units and institutions of SAF with basic movable material and reserve parts, ordnance and fuels, quartermaster, medical and vet movable supplies.
  2. Maintenance of special-purpose resources, ordnance and missiles, fuels and wiring.
  3. Transport of movable supplies for MoD and SAF
