Central Montevideo

Centro is the inner city neighbourhood of Montevideo, Uruguay. Its main avenue is 18 de Julio avenue, which goes from Plaza Independencia to Artigas Boulevard.

All the commercial area used to be concentrated in this neighbourhood, but after the opening of the first malls, small stores downtown started closing down. Now, that process is being reverted and the area is coming back to life.
