Central Guard Unit

The Central Guard Unit (also called Unit 57003) is responsible for the security of senior government, party, and military leaders. It has several barracks in central Beijing and in northwest Beijing near the Western Hills. The Central Guard Unit is not subordinate to Beijing military headquarters, but reports to the Central Military Commission through the General Staff. It succedeed the 8341 Special Regiment.
