The little team with the big dream took a giant step toward establishing a dynasty as the Central Cambria girls captured their first Class AA cross country crown at the PIAA Championships on the Parkview Course. The Red Devils, led by senior state champion Carly Seymour, crushed District 2 Elk Lake 53-175 to claim the title. Central Cambria’s points’ total was the least amount scored by a girls squad at the state meet since Dallas had 49 points in 2003. Also earning podium finishes for the Red Devils are junior Annie Cekada, who was 19th, with sophomore Kelsey Seymour 22nd and freshman Kendall Seymour 24th, the latter two are younger sisters of Carly. The other team finishers included freshman Emily Wright 46th, freshman Ashley Stump 77th and sophomore Morgan Eckenrod 250th.
